The Aquablue Memorial Event will be held on the stable Lagoon 440 catamaran. The catamaran offers plenty of space for a larger group, and the memorial service can be held on board after the scattering of ashes. The catamaran's movement is stable and smooth, so participants need not worry about the boat rocking or seasickness. Additionally, the boat is well-covered, allowing guests to relax and dine on deck even if it rains.

The scattering of ashes can be done while anchored or by driving the boat at a slow speed. Ashes move slowly in the water, and during or after the scattering, we will take a few honorary laps around the ashes with the boat. During the ceremony, individual flowers or leaves can also be released into the water, similar to the tradition of a casket burial.

The catamaran's movement is stable and smooth, and there are no steep stairs or other significant restrictions on movement on board. As mentioned earlier, the boat is well-covered, providing ample space for guests and protection from the rain.

Instructions for scattering ashes:

Permission from the owner of the water area is required for scattering ashes. In Helsinki, there are two designated locations for maritime ash scattering: Abrahaminluoto, located west/northwest of Harmaja, and another location northwest of Rysäkivi. In Espoo, the designated location is Käärmeluoto, situated between Vehkasaari and Käärmesaari.

There are two ways to carry out maritime ash scattering: scattering the ashes into the water or alternatively, sinking the entire urn. Scatter scattering is more common of the two. If sinking the urn is preferred, it must be specifically designed for maritime ash scattering.

Other information:

Ashes can only be scattered when the water is unfrozen. Ashes should be scattered from the boat over the side at approximately 30 centimeters above the water surface to prevent them from blowing back.

Ashes should be scattered, not poured.

When planning the scattering, weather conditions should be taken into account.

During the scattering, the release of individual flowers is permitted. However, bouquets, floral arrangements, wreaths, or other non-biodegradable or slow-degrading items should not be thrown into the sea.

Number of participants: 23 guests plus crew.
